Kunjip Tofu: Reviews & Ratings
So glad to leave a review for this restaurant. This was my second time eating here with my sister, and this time we brought our parents along. Our waiter, Steven, was incredibly kind and attentive. I especially appreciated him because my parents are older and Vietnamese, and he took the time to joke around with them and make them feel comfortable. Thanks to him, we all had a wonderful time. The food was delicious, and the service made the experience even better. We truly enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back.
We came here tonight with my family for a quick family dinner. The overall atmosphere is very upscaled, modernized, and clean, and the service staffs are very warm, friendly, and polite, while also delivering the food and drinks on time. I ordered the Wagyu Bulgogi Bibimbap, and honestly even tho I was never really a Bibimbap kinda person, this was by far the best one I've ever had. It tasted very fresh (like it's actually made from the kitchens) while sizzling hot, with a great rich sesame oil aroma. Instantly became my most favorite dish for this place (considering this is our first time here). My brother got the Seolleongtang while my mom got the signature Kunjip Tofu pot meal (no pics unfortunately) We came on a weekday night as of this writing so there wasn't a line to wait, even tho we registered on a wait-list, the front desk waitress immediately took us to our table when we were present. The table we sat at is very clean, with the utensils all presented elegantly and handled with care. We were first served the hot barley tea which had a very rich and pleasant aroma and flavor, and then (shortly after ordering everything) our meals came on time. As of all traditions for Korean tofu restaurants, between meals we got banchan refills. They were all pretty good and tasted very fresh quality. After the meals we each got a complimentary sweets as a small dessert. Price is to be expected. It's an upscaled Korean tofu restaurant, and what we had today was worth it. This is a good place to go if you're on a business lunch/dinner with a group, or on a date. Otherwise it's also very family friendly.
Excellent Korean food! I loved everything here, from the ambiance to the selection of curated dishes here. The ordering process was so simple and smooth, all of our food arrived in minutes of ordering but it was so fresh. The galbi, octopus bibimbap, and the seafood tofu soup were all so tremendous and was the perfect amount of food for two people. This review is simple because there’s not much to say - everything I ordered was delicious, prepared professionally and quickly, was clean and not oily, and very satisfying from start to end.
Up scale Korean cuisine. We ordered the Sea bass Twigim very nice and also the Mushroom Twigim which was also great. The Wagyu galbi is delicious. So tender and seasoned perfectly. No to sweet or salty. Although the price is up there but you get what you pay for in this case. The meal also came with assorted banchan that you can get more upon request. We also ordered the grilled mackerel which was perfectly grilled. Not to salty. Service was excellent. They kept an eye on us and checked if we needed anything and refilled our water and tea without asking. The outdoor wait can be a while since it was a waiting list. It was heated and they provided coffee and hot chocolate. All in all a very nice Korean restaurant that has your familiar items but with a classy twist. A must try if you are into Korean cuisine.
New favorite spot unlocked! The snow crab is a must-try, it's super meaty and goes so well with their signature sauce. The vibes here are 10/10. Makes you feels like a 'rich' dining experience but with the warmth of a home-cooked meal. Shoutout to the rice water for being surprisingly tasty! Totally worth every penny. Just a heads up: check the address before you drive! There’s another place with the same name nearby, and I learned that the hard way.
Lunch at Kunjip Tofu House was nothing short of impressive and a clear reminder that planning ahead pays off. This place is extremely popular, so getting on the waitlist before arriving is essential unless you’re prepared for a long wait. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance stands out. The restaurant has a sleek, modern aesthetic that feels both upscale and welcoming. Everything looks spotless and thoughtfully designed, creating a comfortable dining environment that elevates the overall experience without feeling pretentious. The service was equally strong. The staff is clearly well-trained and well-staffed—attentive without hovering, professional yet warm. Orders were taken efficiently, questions were answered knowledgeably, and the pacing of the meal felt just right, especially for a busy lunch service. Now to the star of the show: the food. I ordered the abalone galbi, and it was an absolute standout. The flavors were deep and beautifully balanced, the presentation refined, and the quality of ingredients unmistakable. The abalone was tender and luxurious, pairing perfectly with the rich, savory galbi—an excellent showcase of both technique and authenticity in Korean cuisine. In terms of value, while this isn’t casual-budget dining, the portion size, ingredient quality, and overall experience more than justify the price. You’re paying for precision, premium ingredients, and consistency—and it shows. All things considered, Kunjip Tofu House easily ranks among the top Korean restaurants in the Bay Area. It honestly wouldn’t be surprising to see them eventually recognized by Michelin Guide. This is a destination-worthy spot that delivers across food, service, and ambiance.
Food Quality: The food at Kunjip Tofu is simply perfect. Every dish we had was delicious and well-prepared, showcasing authentic flavors and high-quality ingredients. It's an ideal spot for anyone craving excellent Korean food. Service & Staff: The service here is impeccable. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. Their efficiency and positive attitude contribute greatly to the overall fantastic experience. Be Prepared for a Wait: A testament to its popularity, this restaurant gets very crowded. My advice is to make a reservation or get on the waitlist quickly, especially during peak hours. Delivery Option: A great bonus is that they also offer delivery, which is a convenient way to enjoy their delicious food from the comfort of your home. Overall Impression: Kunjip Tofu is a five-star gem. With its perfect food, fantastic service, and the bonus of a delivery option, it's a must-visit. I highly recommend it and will definitely be returning.
On a sunny Saturday afternoon, my partner and I headed over to Kunjip. There was around an hour wait at 12:00 so we joined the waitlist(which was virtually closed), then headed over to Robu next door for matcha. Eventually it was our turn and we went in. We got the Galbi as well as the Bulgogi Bibimbap. Everything here was fantastic. The banchan was super fresh and they have a guy wheeling around a cart with refills of everything you’d need. The entrees themselves were super delicious as well. The galbi was nice and tender with good flavor and the side of ssamjang was fantastic. The bibimbap had a good amount of crispy rice and a nice flavor. Finally, the service was nice. At times it was a little hard to hunt down our server, but he was super helpful and friendly. I definitely will come back.
